Pastor James McNear, Jr. - lovingly called PMac, Jr. - is a native of Des Moines, IA. He began his ministry journey in 1978 in Los Angeles, CA at Robbins Memorial COGIC, where he met his wife Lady Regina. Under the leadership of Pastor V.A. Scott he was ordained as an Elder in 1984.
After serving faithfully with his wife and children for several years, God spoke and they listened. Elder McNear, Jr. and his family relocated to Des Moines, IA to serve at Mission Temple Church under his father, the late Dr. James McNear, Sr. and First Lady Florence D McNear. In 1987 Elder McNear, Jr. was appointed to the role of Assistant Pastor in which he faithfully served until 2016.
In 2014 Elder McNear, Jr. stepped in as the interim pastor due to the sudden illness of his father. In the fall of 2016, with Lady Regina by his side, Elder McNear, Jr. was consecrated and installed as Lead Pastor of Mission Temple Church.
Their statement:
Our aim is to please God in all that we do (2 Cor. 59). We strive to continue growing in our understanding and application of God’s Word and teach others to do the same. Being compelled by the truth we embrace God’s call to meet both the practical and spiritual needs of people while changing lives through the word of God.
Together, with those here at Mission Temple Church, we are working to continue the growth of God’s kingdom by being an encouragement to one another as well as to those in our community. We are truly excited for what God has in store and ask that you consider joining us in doing God’s work. After all, many hands make light work!
Lovingly,
Pastor James & Lady Regina McNear, Jr.
